What are Permanent Cosmetics?

Permanent cosmeticsPermanent cosmetics are made up of a number of micro-pigmentation procedures that are designed to enhance your natural features by applying hypo-allergenic pigments under the uppermost layer of the skin, known as the dermal layer. These semi-permanent procedures are both safe and quick and can help to give you the radiant looks you’ve always dreamed of, whether that’s a set of eyebrows boasting the perfect arch or a set of full, blushed lips that would give any catwalk model a run for their money.

What permanent cosmetics procedures can I choose from?

The range of permanent cosmetics procedures are extensive and include semi-permanent eyeliner, semi-permanent lip liner, nipple tattooing and scar camouflage amongst others. Semi-permanent eyeliner can be used to give your eyes a striking outline that won’t fade even as you go about your busy day. Semi-permanent lip liner can be used to give thin, pale or uneven lips colour and definition, helping your lips become a stand out feature, which will give your face balance. Nipple tattooing can help to restore colour and shape to our areola following a breast reconstruction surgery, giving you added confidence in your femininity. Scar camouflage can help to reduce the appearance of scarring from injuries or accidents, including burns, achieving an even tone throughout your skin that looks completely natural.

Who would benefit from permanent cosmetics procedures?

Permanent cosmetics procedures can benefit women and men of all ages including those who are unable to use conventional cosmetics because of allergies, such as hayfever. Permanent cosmetics procedures can also benefit those that are suffering from hair loss, or who need to give their eyelashes or eyebrows more definition as a result of sparse or uneven distribution of hairs. Unsymmetrical features can also be more greatly aligned using semi-permanent make-up. Permanent cosmetics procedures are also great for more mature skins, where features such as lips may have lost their definition as a result of ageing. Whatever your individual needs, whether that’s medical tattooing, for conditions such as alopecia, or cosmetic tattooing, to give you that a made-up look that can last up to two years, permanent cosmetics procedures can offer you a tailor-made solution.

At Features for Life clients  are at the heart of our permanent cosmetics procedures and our professional micro pigmentation specialist Caron will work with you during your pre-procedure consultation to help you to achieve a look that will make you feel both beautiful and confident. Each part of the two-part procedure will last for between 45 minutes and 1 hour and be carried out by Caron in our dedicated treatment room. During each part of your procedure, which will be spaced between 4-6 weeks apart, Caron will apply a topical anaesthetic cream to numb the area to be treated, as well as soothing  cream after the procedure and you will go home with a sachet of Vaseline and aftercare sheet to give you everything you need to care for your procedure.
